of Use

These General Terms of Use (hereinafter "ToU") govern the use of the Logokratia service (hereinafter "the Service"), a debate and publication platform.

Article 1 – Purpose and Acceptance

Use of the Service implies full, complete, and unconditional acceptance of these ToU. If you do not accept these terms, you must immediately stop using the Service.

Article 2 – Access and Registration to the Service

Age requirements: Registration is restricted to individuals who are at least 16 years of age. For minors under 16, registration is subject to the prior authorization of a holder of parental authority. Rules regarding COPPA: In any event, the Service is not intended for children under 13 years of age. If we learn that we have collected data from a child under 13 without verification of parental consent, we will delete that information immediately.

Account creation: The user agrees to provide accurate information, including a valid email address. They are solely responsible for the security of their password and for any activity carried out from their account.

Access: Logokratia implements reasonable means to ensure quality access to the Service, but is under no obligation to achieve a specific result. The User guarantees that they are not located in a country subject to a French or US government embargo, or designated as a "terrorist-supporting" country. They agree to comply with international export control laws.

Article 3 – User Obligations and Published Content

The user is solely responsible for the content (texts, images, links, etc.) they publish on the Service. They guarantee that they hold all the rights and authorizations necessary for its publication.

Article 3.1 – Prohibited Content

The following content is strictly prohibited, subject to immediate removal of the content and/or the account:

• Sexual or pornographic content: Any image, video, or text displaying sexual acts, full nudity, or explicit suggestive content.
• Harm to third parties: Defamatory or insulting remarks, or content that infringes upon the privacy, image rights, or intellectual property of third parties.
• Harassment and violence: Threats, harassment (particularly cyberbullying), glorification of war crimes or terrorism, and content encouraging self-harm.

Article 3.1.1 – Exception for the public interest

By exception, the publication of sensitive content may be tolerated if, and only if, it pursues a clear purpose of information, journalism, historical documentation, public health, or scientific/philosophical argumentation. These specific cases will be subject to an in-depth review by our moderation teams upon reporting or detection, and may be restricted or removed if they do not meet the public-interest criteria. No exception applies to Child Sexual Abuse Exploitation/Material (CSAE). Zero tolerance is absolute and is systematically followed by a report to the competent authorities (notably via the PHAROS platform).

Article 3.1.2 – Warning obligation

In these exceptional cases, the User agrees to accompany their content with an explicit warning (e.g., a "Sensitive Content" notice) and not to present these elements in a gratuitous or inciting manner.

Article 3.1.3 – Assessment by Logokratia

Logokratia reserves the sovereign right to determine whether content falls under the "argumentative/informative" exception or constitutes a violation of these ToU. In case of doubt, the content may be hidden or subjected to an access restriction (prior warning for the reader).

Article 3.2 – Child Protection (Child Safety / CSAE)

The Logokratia application strictly prohibits any child sexual abuse content (CSAE). A zero-tolerance policy is enforced. Any violation will result in the immediate termination of your access to the Service and a report to the competent authorities (notably via the PHAROS platform).

Article 3.3 – Fraudulent technical behavior

The use of robots ("bots"), advertising spam (outside dedicated spaces), and any attempt to manipulate rating algorithms by fraudulent means are strictly prohibited.

Article 3.4 – Combating disinformation and "trolling"

Logokratia's mission is to provide a high-quality service based on the reliability of information. Consequently, the following are strictly prohibited:

• Disinformation: The deliberate and repeated dissemination of clearly false, truncated, or misleading information likely to mislead third parties.
• Deliberate disruption of debate: Repeated or bulk posting of off-topic content, systematic use of deliberately incoherent remarks, or any manoeuvre intended to materially prevent a discussion from taking place.

These prohibitions target objectively verifiable conduct, not the opinions expressed. Criticism of the Service, of its editorial choices or of its moderation decisions is free and never constitutes a breach of these ToU.

Article 3.5 – Indemnification

Where a third party brings an action against Logokratia on account of content published by the user, and to the extent that such action is held to be well-founded by a court decision, the user shall bear its financial consequences. This indemnity applies neither to manifestly unfounded actions nor to damage resulting from Logokratia's own fault, and does not affect the rights the user holds as a consumer.

Article 4 – License to User Content

You retain full ownership of your content. By publishing on Logokratia, you grant the Service a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license, for the legal duration of protection of your rights, allowing its hosting, display, reproduction, technical adaptation, and distribution. This license ends when the content or your account is deleted, subject to the preservation of anonymized public debates (Article 4.1).

This license is granted strictly within the framework necessary for the operation, promotion and improvement of the Service. It covers the automated analysis of your content required for the platform to function (moderation, fact-checking, Logoscore computation, debate summaries).

By contrast, using your content for training and refining our Artificial Intelligence models requires your prior, express consent. That consent is off by default: unless you enable it in your account settings (« AI improvement »), your content is not used for this purpose. You may withdraw it at any time, without justification; withdrawal applies for the future.

So-called "private" content (instant messaging service) is only used to improve the automated moderation service, and only for content that has been reported and moderated. In this case, the content concerned is anonymized. This license does not imply any transfer of ownership.

Likewise, usage measurement of the application (device identifier, session identifier, model, operating system, connection type) linked to your account requires a separate consent, also off by default, available in settings under « Usage statistics ».

Article 4.1 – Longevity of public debates

Due to the collaborative nature of the platform (debates, discussion threads), deleting a user account does not result in the automatic deletion of their public contributions. In order to preserve the coherence of exchanges, the user accepts that their public content will be kept and maintained online in a strictly anonymized manner (irreversible dissociation of the pseudonym from the identity) after their account is closed. However, in accordance with Article 17 of the GDPR and Articles L.121-1 and L.121-4 of the French Intellectual Property Code, the user retains the right to demand the total and definitive deletion of specific content upon simple request sent to support@logokratia.com.

Article 5 – Moderation and Reporting of Illegal Content

In its capacity as a host within the meaning of Regulation (EU) 2022/2065 (Digital Services Act), Logokratia has no knowledge of content before it is put online, and is not subject to a general obligation to monitor content.

In accordance with Articles 11 and 12 of the DSA, the single point of contact for authorities is: legal@logokratia.com, and the single point of contact for users is: support@logokratia.com.

Article 5.1 – Algorithmic analysis

The quality indicators (reliability, coherence, constructiveness, clarity, calm) displayed on the platform are generated automatically by our Artificial Intelligence algorithms. These scores are technical navigation-aid tools and do not, under any circumstances, constitute editorial approval of the content by Logokratia.

Article 5.2 – Reporting procedure

In accordance with Regulation (EU) 2022/2065 (Digital Services Act), any person may report clearly illegal content via the email address support@logokratia.com or via the reporting interface built into the Service. The report must contain a precise description of the facts, the location of the content (URL), and the legal grounds for the removal request.

Article 5.3 – Moderation process and sanctions

In order to preserve the proper functioning and reputation of the platform and to guarantee high-quality debate, Logokratia applies a two-phase hybrid moderation procedure:

• Phase 1: Automated moderation and precautionary measure (temporary visibility restriction). Logokratia may immediately restrict other members' access to a piece of content, pending human review. This measure is notified to its author, who continues to see the content and knows it is restricted: it is therefore not a « shadow ban ». The notification states the rule concerned and why the content breaches it, the facts relied on, the origin of the decision (report or own-initiative detection), any use of automated means, and the available means of redress. The User has a 6-month right to contest this measure.
• Phase 2: Human verification and final decision. Any restricted content or account is submitted to a human team for review (reinstatement, permanent removal, or banning).

Logokratia is committed to reviewing every appeal in a human, diligent, and non-arbitrary manner, within a reasonable period not exceeding 30 days from receipt of the complaint.

Article 5.4 – Combating abusive reporting

Any user who abuses the reporting function is liable to have their account suspended or permanently deleted (Article 6-I-4 of the French LCEN law).

Article 6 – Liability

Logokratia undertakes to make its best efforts to ensure the availability, security and proper functioning of the Service, without being able to guarantee the total absence of anomalies.

Logokratia is liable for damage caused by its own breaches under the conditions of ordinary law. It is not, however, liable for damage not attributable to it, in particular damage resulting from force majeure, the act of a third party, a failure of the network or of the user's equipment, or content published by another user.

Nothing in these terms excludes Logokratia's liability in the event of wilful misconduct, gross negligence, or harm to a person's life or physical integrity.

Article 7 – Intellectual Property

The structure, texts, images, code, and any other element making up the Service are the exclusive property of Logokratia and are protected by copyright, with the exception of elements belonging to third parties (notably the icons and illustrations mentioned in the Legal Notice), which remain the property of their respective owners. Any reproduction without authorization is prohibited.

Article 7.1 – Prohibition of "scraping"

Any automated extraction of data (web-scraping) targeting Logokratia's content is strictly prohibited without authorization, including for the training of third-party AI models.

Article 8 – Personal Data

The collection and processing of your personal data are governed by our Privacy Policy, which forms an integral part of these ToU.

Article 8.1 – AI-generated content

The Service displays content produced automatically by an artificial intelligence system, foremost among them debate summaries. In accordance with Article 50 of Regulation (EU) 2024/1689 on artificial intelligence, such content is disclosed as such by a visible « AI-generated summary » label.

These summaries are a reading aid, not a source. They may contain errors or omissions, express no editorial position of Logokratia, and do not dispense with consulting the original contributions, which remain accessible.

Article 9 – Suspension and Deletion of Accounts

Logokratia reserves the right to suspend or permanently delete any account in the event of a violation of these ToU.

Article 9.1 – Inactivity and pseudonyms

Logokratia reserves the right to reassign a pseudonym linked to an account that has remained inactive for more than six (6) months.

Article 10 – Modification of the ToU

Logokratia reserves the right to modify these ToU at any time. Users will be informed of any substantial modification.

Article 11 – Applicable Law and Competent Jurisdiction

These ToU are governed by French law. Failing an amicable resolution, the French courts shall have sole jurisdiction. In the event of a discrepancy, the French version shall prevail.
